Yesterday was a complete no-go, so tonight I get to write a little over 3K in order to catch up. I think I know how I want to do it, but we'll see how it works. It almost certainly won't be ready for posting tonight, and since I'm a weirdo and like symmetry in my journal calendars, here's a small spread of the things I absolutely need for NaNo.

My needs are actually very simple. Usually I do this curled up on something soft, like my couch or (more likely) my bed. Something that's surprised me, though...

Do I get smacked if I say I need this candle like burning? But no, really! It's this cinnamon-scented candle a friend's mom sent me last Christmas, and which I only just discovered again this fall. When I started NaNo, I wanted some candles, but was either too poor or too cold/lazy to go out and get some. Then I found this, and now I can't make progress if I don't have that spice in the air.

Every good UChicago girl relies on her source texts. The Andy Warhol notebook is full of drawings, scribbles and notes from the first time I tried to write this story. The insides of that might come to light later.

Aw, it looks all artistic when you can't read it! But yeah, mustache mug, popcorn, Nutella — I'm set. (Maruchan Instant Lunch ramen also deserves honorable mention at this point, I think. Ah, addictions developed while writing.)
