I'm pretty sure there's something a little twisted in that I'm trying to decide if I should panic at the thought of not having internet access at my new place for the first week or rejoice, because maybe I'll finally make some progress on some big projects I'm sweating.

Internet access is a funny thing. I need it, for research, for rewarding myself, for breaks, for communication -- and I focus so much better without it, even if it drives me up the wall.

Either way, actual physical apartment-moving is going to happen over the next two days, and that is going to be crazy and a half. Talk about your adventures in making time and space work for you. Accomplishments above and beyond changing residences will be icing.

I get that too, with the internet!

My solution is to unplug my laptop's internet cable briefly whenever I need to get shit done. :D

I am not that self-disciplined yet -- I can turn off my wireless but I always know it's there! If I'm somewhere I physically (or, well, technologically, I guess) can't access the internet, that's when I buckle down best.

It's less self-discipline and more a combination of laziness and guilt. Reaching back behind my laptop to plug the cable in again takes more effort than just firing up Firefox or Chrome, so I think about it for a second or two and then decide to go back to work instead. XD

So not really laziness, more... task inertia?

Hey -- never underestimate the power of inertia to create momentum.
