Oh my god. Oh my god, I just spent an hour or two writing and realigning and worldbuilding, and holy shit, guys, I think The Falling Woman works again.

Sometimes I try and kid myself that Cate Blanchett is not the face and voice of Gruoch. She always comes back and gives me that look and asks why I'm trying to so circuitous. Huffington Post had a slideshow detailing her fashion evolution (including the gladiator dress that I'm so in love with), and they had this picture of her at one of her earliest premieres, in 1994, and just. I see young Gruoch so clearly: there's something gawky and somewhat strange about her, and I can see her scaring the shit out of suitors who haven't done their research before they come courting.

Macbeth, of course, comes out okay.

I'm starting to do a little more than just poke at revisions. Watch this space (I hope); I have set up my wall with the major projects I want to be working on these days, and, well, there are nine. All at once. I am a dope.

I may have to peruse this a little more, but through my Network I came across the Female Character Flowchart. Now, I have to admit, I have complicated feelings about the notion of the Strong Female Character, which would be a whole essay I'd have to lay out. Maybe I'll know more once I've spent a little more time with this link. But there are a few names in the termini (is that the plural?) of the threads that (derogatory, ambiguous or no) have this solid, elemental character that I really like: Final Girl. The Anchor. Lady of War. Mystical Artifact. They sound like tarot cards.

Hilariously, "Lady Macbeth" is an option, somewhere in the upper left (along with "Girl Hitler" and "Psycho Feminist Lesbian Amazon"), but, uh, when I traced her out she went straight to the "Congratulations!" bubble.

I admit, I'd like to see it.
